The Keeper Chronicles: Fall in love with epic fantasy all over again.

I would consider myself an old school fantasy lover and spent much of my youth reading Tolkien, McKiernan, McCaffrey, Tad Williams and pretty much anyone else I could get my hands on. In today's fast paced world, I think it's hard for indie authors to grab readers and get them to commit to the meandering sprawling story telling that is Epic Fantasy. With that being said, there are a few who manage to hit all the right notes and JA Andrews is leaps and bounds ahead of the field. Her story telling is phenomenal and you can't help but get sucked in and feel fully immersed while reading. The Keeper Chronicles was her debut series and each book follows the life of a different Keeper, generational magical talents that serve as historians, advisors, story tellers, and unwilling heroes. Each keeper has their own personality and strengths and I found myself wanting to learn more and more about all the side characters as they were introduced. Once you hit that 30% point of each book you begin to get swept up in the story and find that you have to pick up the story every free minute until you finish it. If you are an audio fan like me you will be pleased to know this series is narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds.

Getting a little fatigued by all the grimdark books? Looking for something to rekindle that same passion you had as a kid the first time you read about dragons? This is it, this is the story. She will make you laugh, she will make you cheer, she will even make you send her messages when your wife gets worried when she finds you crying into your coffee mug while reading. (Yes that really happened)

The Black Horn and Tomkin and the Dragon fit in so well with the main trilogy I recommend you read them after book 2. I can confidently say they don't disappoint and I believe I own at least two or three versions of nearly every books she has published from e-book, to audiobook, to signed paperbacks. I have even bought nearly a dozen copies to give away. I truly believe this is one of those series that will make you fall in love with indie epic fantasy.
